With so many options for pipes and pipe fittings available, each with their own unique and appealing characteristics, choosing the right materials for your needs can be a daunting task. Although there are many options at your disposal, it would be advantageous to take CPVC pipes under serious consideration.

This is especially true if you are currently residing in the GCC region, as CPVC pipes are in fact perfect for withstanding the harshness of the hard water available here. Underestimating the effects of hard water is not a good idea, as it can corrode the ever resistant copper pipes within a fraction of its general lifetime. CPVC pipes are equipped with incredible anti corrosive properties and also possess a smooth inner surface that reduces friction and resists dirt and deposits. With the rising cost of copper, CPVC is also the more affordable option for many. In addition, CPVC pipes are code compliant in most places.

As there are advantages, there are also disadvantages. The most obvious disadvantage is that CPVC pipes are not as resilient as copper or galvanized steel or galvanized iron pipes and pipe fittings. It needs to be handled with care, and by technically skilled and experienced people. CPVC pipes cannot be struck or handled with a hammer, as this can cause damage to a great extent. The flexibility provided by CPVC pipes is an advantage most of the time, but that also means that it requires more stability and support than copper or galvanized iron and steel, at intervals of approximately 3 feet.

CPVC pipes can be a lasting and satisfying investment if it is chosen carefully according to your needs. It is forgiving enough that you can try to put together a CPVC pipeline of your own, though you will need several tools and materials from MEP equipment suppliers or even duct liner suppliers to get started.
